Doris Watson - Obituary

oris Adair Watson, 85, of Severna Park and previously of Heritage Harbour in Annapolis, Camp Springs and Suitland, died on January 22 at Fairfield Nursing Home in Crownsville. She was born on November 1, 1926 in Washington, DC to the late Carson and Virginia Adair. She spent her youth in Washington and received a teaching degree from the former Wilson Teachers College. She spent her life pursuing her two greatest passions as educator and homemaker. She was ever present at her children’s schools, PTA events, library and sporting events. She loved surprising her family with an impressive meal every day. Doris was predeceased by her husband, Noel “Boots” Watson, a sister, Carolyn Miller, two grandsons, Christopher and Casey Watson, and a daughter-in-law, Bonny Holson Watson. She is survived by five children, Linda (Weldon Will) of Westminster; John (Lyndra) Watson of Bel Air, and Steve (Linda) Watson, Bob Watson, and Ron (Dawn) Watson all of North Beach; also survived by 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren . Friends are invited to Doris’ Life Celebration on Sunday, January 29 from 2 to 4PM at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. A graveside service will be held Monday, January 30 at 1PM at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite cancer research charity.
