Dorothy Ayres - Obituary

orothy Brandt Ayres, 99, of Annapolis, died peacefully on July 15, 2014. Born in Washington, DC to Eunice and Fred G.H. Brandt on March 17, 1915. Dorothy graduated from McKinley Technical High School in June 1933. She was married to James Lester Ayres for 70 years. She joined the work force in the early 1950's, working for the D.C. National Guard Armory and the Department of Corrections in Washington, DC She loved traveling in her motor home, reading her Bible and eating out. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Charlotte; son-in-law, Lou; two grandchildren, Mark and Elise; and five great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater on Friday, July 25 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. A funeral service will be held at Heritage Baptist Church, 1740 Forest Drive, Annapolis on Saturday, July 26 at 11am.
