Dorothy Anne Kessler - Obituary

orothy Anne Kessler, 88, a 23-year resident of Annapolis, MD and previously of Barnstable, MA, passed away on June 29, 2018. Born on August 22, 1929 in Washington, DC to the late Aloysius and Helen Hodges, Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her career as an interior decorator and was passionate about playing a good game of bridge. Dorothy was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Henry James Kessler who died in 2002. She is survived by three sons, Michael Kessler of Scottsdale, AZ, R. Christopher Kessler of Roanoke, VA and John (Robin) Kessler of Annapolis; one daughter, Anne (William) Riley of Olney, MD and three grandsons, John, Jim and Bradley. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:00AM on Monday, July 9 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Road, Annapolis. Burial will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 601 Maiden Choice Lane, Baltimore, MD 21228.
