Doryce Globus - Obituary

oryce B. Globus, 85, a 38-year resident of Annapolis, MD and previously of Camp Springs, MD died on November 7, 2009 of natural causes. Born December 20, 1923 in Rocky Mount, NC, she was a volunteer for the Red Cross in Japan during the Korean Conflict. She was Docent at the William Paca House and Garden in Annapolis, MD. Her hobbies included travelling, reading and playing Bridge. She was the beloved wife of the late Karl Globus, whom she married in 1945 and who died in 2003; devoted mother of Diane Cheryl Edington of Los Angeles, CA, Karla Dee Diaz of Edgewater, MD and Suzan Raye Globus of Fair Haven, NJ; sister of Dewey Raymond Bracey of Carriere, MS; grandmother of Samuel Louis Diaz of Grass Valley, CA, Kendra Nicole Arroyo of Las Vegas, NV and Lauren Doral Mattia of Fair Haven, NJ; great-grandmother of Oliver Levine of Fairhaven, NJ and Sebastian Gabriel Arroyo of Las Vegas, NV. She is predeceased by her first husband, Arch Edington. Friends are invited to Doryce's Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Friday, November 13, 2009 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Interment private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
