r. Dwight M. Carter of Fort Washington, MD passed away Monday evening, April 22, 2019, surrounded by loving family. He was born on April 15, 1940 in Mt. Olive, NC. He was a beloved uncle, brother, cousin, co-worker and dearest friend.
As a young child growing up in rural North Carolina, Dwight always dreamed of traveling the world. In 1967, his passion and dreams became a reality when his career path took him abroad. Since then, he worked, traveled and lived in many countries across the globe including the United Kingdom, Italy, Turkey, Germany and Japan. In his life, he traveled to over 83 countries.
Dr. Dwight M. Carter was also a man of many talents and skill sets. Over the course of his varied career, Dwight
worked as a teacher, school counselor, psychologist, supervisor, antique appraiser and the Director of Executive
and Career Development for the Department of the Navy, Office of the Auditor General. He was a very
accomplished man.
A Celebration of Dwight's Life will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the KALAS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD.
