E. Evelyn Gingell - Obituary

. Evelyn Gingell, 92, died on Tuesday, January 26 at her residence in Edgewater, MD. Born on March 9, 1923 in Washington, D.C. to the late Arthur Edward and Eunice Annie Seitzinger, Evelyn was baptized on March 28, 1937. Later that same year, her parents built a vacation cottage in Selby on the Bay and in 1946 her family established permanent residency in the Edgewater/ Mayo area. From 1951 to 2016, Evelyn served on the Selby on the Bay Board of Directors, helping to build that community into the wonderful community that it is today. She was also instrumental in establishing two area churches, Edgewater Baptist Church and Living Word Bible Church, where she served on the financial committees and played the organ. In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Leroy Gingell; her son, Arthur James Gingell; her brother, James Rider Seitzinger and her sister, Mary Virginia Seitzinger. She is survived by her son, Ralph Kenneth Gingell; her grandchildren, Jaime Ann, Angela Nicole and Arthur Scott Gingell and seven great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to celebrate Evelyn's life from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm on Sunday, January 31 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Funeral service will be held at 11am on Monday, February 1 at Living Word Bible Church, 5300 Chalk Point Rd., West River, MD. Interment will follow at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, MD.
