Marie Green, 84, died in Great Mills, Maryland on October 24, 2010. A native of Annapolis, she was born Ethel Marie Bowen on August 9, 1926 in Eastport, MD, to Robert C. and Hazel (Brooks) Bowen, the youngest of four children. She attended school in Annapolis, MD.
In January, 1952, she married Robert Frank Green, with whom she had two daughters, Bonnie Marie Green, and Rosalie Estelle Howse. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1977, her daughter Rosalie who died in 2010, her brother Robert and sister Libby.
She was a member of the Londontowne Peppers Group. She enjoyed being a homemaker, playing bingo, crocheting, and baking cookies.
She is survived by her sister Rosalie Rowan of Bradenton, FL, daughter Bonnie, grandsons, Matthew Howse and William Edgerton, and her great-granddaughter Victoria Edgerton, all of Annapolis, MD. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins she loved.
Friends are invited to Marie’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, where services will be held on Thursday October 28, at 11 am. Interment Hillcrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Animal Welfare League of the Northern Neck, 75 South Main Street, Kilmarnock, Virginia 22482.
