Earl Lee Housenfluck, Sr. - Obituary

arl L. Housenfluck, Sr., 85, an eight-year resident of Ocean View, DE, and previously of New Carrollton, MD, died June 13, 2024, in Annapolis, MD, following an 11-year battle with Parkinson's disease. Born January 3, 1939, in Washington, DC, he graduated from the FBI National Academy and held a master's degree in administration. Throughout his career, Earl was employed with the FBI, U.S. Park Police, and the U.S. Treasury. He honorably served his country while in the U.S. Air Force. Earl was a life member of the Bowie Elks Lodge and the International Association of Chiefs of Police. He enjoyed golf, genealogy, and traveling. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Carene Housenfluck. He is survived by three children, Earl (Teresa) Housenfluck, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC, Lynn (Kevin) Duckworth of Centreville, MD, and Patty (Kenny) Boswell of Deale, MD; six grandchildren, Todd (Emma) Duckworth, Jessica (Cesar) Hernandez, Joseph Housenfluck, Savannah (Jimmy) Jacobsen, Jacob (Sierra) Boswell, and Kayla (Tyler) Hardy; and seven great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Earl's life at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Wednesday, June 19, from 6 to 8 pm (with an Elks Lodge of Sorrow Service being held at 7:30 pm), where a second visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20 from 11 am until his funeral service begins at noon. Interment will immediately follow the service at Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville, MD. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tunnel to Tower Foundation.
