dla Christian “Ed” Bromley, 78, a lifelong resident of Riverdale, MD, passed away on September 25, 2017. Born on November 22, 1938 in Washington, DC to the late William and Rhoda Barham, Ed was a graduate of Bladensburg High School. She married Eugene Bromley in 1954 and together they raised seven children. Once her children were older, Ed began a career of more than 30 years in nutritional service at Riverdale Elementary School. She enjoyed shopping and tending her garden but Ed’s greatest passion was spending time with her family.
Ed was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Eugene M. Bromley who died in 2001 and grandson, Danny McKnew who died in 2016. She is survived by her children, Bernard William Bromley, Robert James “Bobby” and his wife, Rose Bromley, Brian Eugene and his wife, Patty Bromley, Bonnie Jean and her husband, Jim Deaner, Brenda Lee Scott, Barbara Ann and her husband, Danny McKnew and William Owen “Billy” and his wife, Stacy Bromley; 18 grandchildren, Ashleah, Angie, Bobby, Jimmy, Justin, Christian, Elizabeth, Dorothy, Andrew, Dawn, Lauren, Kelli, Nick, Samantha, Billy, Bryan, Bradley and Bailey; and 16 great-grandchildren, Hailey, Elise, Drake, Danny, Gianni, Emery, Maxwell, Ava, Sydney, Micah, Trackor, Parker, Kacey, Mckayla, Alysa, and Clayton.
Friends are invited to a visitation with Ed’s family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 28 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 29 at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
