Edna "Elaine" Cole, 78, longtime resident of both Annapolis, MD, and formerly  Breezewood, PA, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2018, at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD, surrounded by her loving children. 
 
Elaine was a devoted wife and mother, who gave unconditional love to her family.  She enjoyed participating in any activities that involved her family and friends.  Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Gale Cole, her son, Bryan Higgs, parents George and Elizabeth Long, and siblings Lillian Williams, Elizabeth Reid, Eleanor Berry, Louise Sumler, Robert Long, and Dora Childress.  She is survived by her children Brenda Higgs, Bonnie Higgs, Becky Lammers, Barry Cole, Bruce Cole, David Cole, Virgal Cole, Mabel Lawson, Shirley Hale, and Henry Cole, in addition to 32 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. 
 
Family and Friends are invited to celebrate Elaine's life on Wednesday, October 10 from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 6 pm to 8 pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD 21037 where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 11 am. Burial will follow at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville.
