Edward B. Booth - Obituary

E

dward B. Booth, 84 years old, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2022, with his family by his side. Born in Virginia to the late Ferd and Olivene Booth, Ed was raised in Virginia and married the love of his life, Nellie Kinder Booth, on November 1, 1957, before moving to Maryland in 1959. It was there that he began his 46-year career in the construction field of drywall, before retiring at the age of 67, later going on to work for NAPA Auto Parts, delivering parts for a number of years. His first and foremost passion was spending time with his wife, children, grand and great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends. He had a great talent for woodworking and a passion for turning wood, which truly showed in all of the beautiful bowls, trays, and crosses that he made over the years. He loved reading, NASCAR racing, and you could ask him anything about history and he always knew the answer. Ed was the rock that everyone, family and friends, turned to in both happy times and in times of need. He is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Nellie Booth; son Bill Booth (Debbie); daughter Debbie Wicker (Jerry); 4 grandchildren, Shannon James (Chris), Jerry Wicker II, Caitlin Perkins (Adam), and Haley Cirincione (Mark); 7 great-grandchildren, Macey James, Garrett James, Dustin Wicker, Grayson Perkins, Liam Perkins, Paxton Perkins and Baby Cirincione (October); 1 sister, Laura Mitchell of Milford, DE; along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his brothers, Ferd S. Booth, Jr. (Slim) and William P. Booth (Paul), and 3 sisters, Rosemary Sherbert, Janet Laster, and Eva Stepp. Relatives and friends are invited to Edward's life celebration on Thursday, August 18 from 11am-1pm, followed by a funeral service at 1 pm, at Kalas Funeral Home and Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Annapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be in Ed’s name to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122. Please leave a condolence for the family by signing the guestbook at the Memories tab located on the left of this page.
