Edward William Ryder - Obituary

dward William Ryder, 83, passed away March 4, 2026 after a brief illness at his home in Edgewater, Maryland. Edward served 4 years in the Army during the Vietnam War and received many recognitions. He was an active life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 304 and a Member of the American Legion Post 226. He enjoyed spending time with his grandson, playing chess, and taking nature hikes in the mountains. Edward is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Anna Ryder and his son, James Ryder. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Jeana Ryder; his daughter, Becca Ryder (Steve); his grandson, William “Wolfie” Wilder; his step-daughter, Patty Napier (Kevin); his step-granddaughter, Megan Stanton (Stephen); his step-grandson, Kevin Napier Jr. (Jackie); and his step-great-grandsons, Stephen Stanton III, Brandon Stanton, and Kevin Napier III.
