Edward Erskin Wright - Obituary

n Wednesday, June 23, 2021, beloved and devoted husband of VerNell T. Wright, and Father of three peacefully entered into heavenly rest at his home in Fort Washington, MD after a long debilitating illness. Also mourning his loss are his children; Rachelle Barnes (Mark), Edward Jr., and Shawn (Janela); eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Ed served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany for a few years. He worked for the National Education Association(NEA) for 20 years and retired on September 6, 1996 at the age of 52. Services will be held at Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 6160 Oxon Hill Road, Oxon Hill, MD on Friday July 9, 2021. Viewing 11 a.m. Service 12 noon. Interment at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery.
