Edwin Smoot - Obituary

dwin Taylor Smoot, 81, of North Brunswick, N.J., for three years and previously of Annapolis for 15 years, died Oct. 3 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J. Born Nov. 11, 1925, in Largent, W.Va., Mr. Smoot was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a manager at Mack Trucks in Bladensburg where he worked for 31 years before retiring in 1982. Surviving are his wife, Rose M. Smoot, whom he married Dec. 4, 1948; one son, Edwin B. Smoot of North Brunswick; a stepsister, J. Irene Hoff of Nebraska; two half sisters, Neoma Fleece of Romney, W.Va., and Wanda Smoot of Keyser, W.Va.; and two grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 27 at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. Burial will be private. In lieu of flower, contributions may be made to the North Brunswick Food Bank, 710 Hermann Road, North Brunswick, NJ 08902.
