Eileen Cassella - Obituary

ileen Hannon Cassella, 78, entered into Eternal Rest on Friday, May 6, 2016 at her home in Edgewater, MD. Born on June 6, 1937 in New York, NY, Eileen graduated from Marymount College in Manhattan, NY in 1959 and taught in the New York area until her children were born. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening. Eileen’s passion though was her family. She was a devoted wife and mother who had a wonderful sense of humor. She will be dearly missed. Eileen is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Herbert Cassella, whom she married on May 7, 1960; two children, James (Yersailan) Cassella of Fairfax Station, VA and Elizabeth (John) Lynskey of Churchton, MD; two sisters, Gloria Fisher of Santa Maria, CA and Barbara Donahue of Destin, FL; and four grandchildren, Erin, Nicole, James and Julie Anne. Friends are invited to celebrate Eileen’s life from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 9 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 515 Loch Haven Road, Edgewater.
