Eilleen Lynn Makell - Obituary

illeen Lynn Makell was born to Rebecca and William Makell on March 20, 2026, at 7:54am, weighing 7 lbs. 4 oz, and measuring 19.8 inches long. At birth, Eilleen was stillborn. Eilleen entered this world unresponsively, without breath or a pulse for five minutes. But during this 5-minute time, her father prayed that she would be given life. And, by the grace of God, Eilleen was miraculously given life. To the joy of her parents and family, Eilleen left the hospital on June 17, 2026, after a three month stay at the Children’s National Hospital NICU. After the NICU period, her life at home was a special blessing to her family filled with movie nights, story time, and being held in her family’s arms. Though her journey on Earth was marked by physical challenges, like living bravely with a tracheostomy for breathing, and a G-tube for feeding, her bright eyes and loud spirit shined innocently with peace and grace. In their hearts, Eilleen’s parents and family give glory to God for every precious second they were granted with her. Changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, Eilleen presented to the Lord in heaven, on August 23, 2026, at 1:50am. ~~ We prayed for more time and although it does not feel like enough, we are extremely thankful, blessed, and honored to have had this special girl in our lives. -Rebecca & William Makell Relatives and friends are invited to Eilleen Lynn's Life Celebration on Sunday, August 30, 2026 from 1 to 6 p.m. and on Monday, August 31 from 5:30 p.m. until the start of the funeral service at 6:30 p.m.at the KALAS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 6160 Oxon Hill Road, Oxon Hill, MD 20745. Interment private at a later date.
