ladia Leigh Parrilla, 39, a 13 year resident of Edgewater, previously of Bowie Maryland, died on July 4 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Born May 30, 1974 in New York City to the late Freddy and Carrie Parrilla, she was a 1992 graduate of Bowie High School, where in her senior year she was voted homecoming queen. Ellie received a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland and later earned her Master's degree in Special Education from the University of District Columbia.
Ellie taught Special Education at Hart Middle School for 10 years and most recently at Bates Middle School.
Ellie's interests included spending time with her nephews, cooking, reading, gossip magazines, watching reality shows, and spending time in the outdoors.
Ellie is survived by her two sisters; Taren K. Parrilla of Edgewater and Jelene (Edwin) Jorge of Bamberg, Germany, one brother, Milton Gouch, III of Largo, Maryland and her longtime companion Scott Cutlip. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews; Krystal, Lucas, Elijah, Edwin, Jr., Tatiana, Jazmine, Justin, Sarah, Nyla, Claire, Callie and Shyann.
Friends are invited to Ellie's Life Celebration from 9:30 until a funeral service begins at 11:30 on Friday, July 12 at Chesapeake Christian Fellowship, 377 W. Central Ave. Davidsonville, MD 21035. Interment private.
