leanor Lydia Blackstock “Connie”, age 90, a 30 year resident of Tracy’s Landing and formerly of Takoma Park died on Tuesday, September 4 at Heritage Harbour Health and Rehabilitation Center in Annapolis of natural causes. Born on June 3, 1922 in Altoona, Pa, Connie graduated from Altoona High School and was a homemaker for most of her life. She was a longtime member of the First Lutheran Church of Sunderland. Connie was preceded in death by her husband, James Blackstock, who died in October of 2000 after 58 years of marriage, and her son, Terry Blackstock. She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Trainor of Ocean View, DE; two sons, Gary Blackstock of Greenbelt and David Blackstock of Tracy’s Landing; a grandson, Monty Schmidt of Rockville; three granddaughters, Kimberly McWilliams of Gaithersburg, Amy Pinther of Columbia and Dawn Cassidy of Deale.
Friends are invited to Connie’s Life Celebration on Thursday, September 6 from 7 to 9pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 7 at 12 noon at the First Lutheran Church, 6300 Southern Maryland Blvd., Huntingtown, MD. Entombment Lakemont Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Davidsonville, MD. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Hwy., Annapolis, MD 21401.
