leanor M. Pinkos, a resident of Grasonville, MD and previously of Seabrook, MD, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2016 after a brief illness. Eleanor was 96. She was born on October 1, 1919 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Henry and Anna Faber Kasten and attended school in Miami, Florida. Eleanor worked as a secretary for the department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Services from 1959 through 1985. Eleanor enjoyed reading, watching movies, spending time with her family and vacations at the beach. She was preceded in death in 1958 by her loving husband, John G. Pinkos, whom she married in 1943; her son, J. Michael Pinkos; and two sisters, Lillian Cox and Verna Stites. Eleanor is survived by her children, Richard W. Pinkos of Churchton, MD, Carol A. Fotopoulos and her husband, John of Church Hill, MD, Mary Ellen Schulze and her husband, Bernard of West Friendship, MD and Vicki L. Ostazeski of Stevensville, MD; her daughter-in-law, Diane Pinkos of Pittsburgh, PA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; Stephen Pinkos of Ft. Worth, TX, Christopher Weih of Cheltenham, England, Lynn Young of Ft. Worth, TX, Jennifer Bowler of Annapolis, MD and Kelly Ostazeski of Stevensville, MD; three step grandchildren, Bret Schulze of Mt. Airy, MD, Michele Olsen of Westminster, MD and Darlene Nulph of Sykesville,MD; and 14 great-grandchildren. Friends may call on Sunday, January 10, 2016 from 12pm until a funeral service begins at 2pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD.
