Elena Poletti - Obituary

lena Poletti, 91, a 12-year resident of Annapolis and previously of Greenbelt, MD, passed away on December 11, 2017 in Glen Burnie, MD. Elena was born on August 14, 1926 in Salerno, Italy to the late Pasquale and Carmela DeLuca. Elena worked as a hairstylist for many years until her retirement. She was a parishioner of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Annapolis. In addition to her parents, Elena was preceded in death by her husband John Poletti Sr., and her siblings; Vincenzo DeLuca, Angelino DeLuca and Lucia Deluca. She is survived by her sons; John Poletti of Winston-Salem, NC and Charles Poletti of Ambler, PA, her brother, Victorio De Luca of Italy, her grandchildren; Daniel, Phillip and Vincent Poletti and Gina Tirella. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Elena's life on Friday, December 15th from 11am until 12pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD 21037. A funeral service will begin at 12 noon. Entombment at Cedar Hill Cemetery will be private.
