Elinor Collison - Obituary

linor Blanche Collison, 93, a 35-year resident of Edgewater, MD and previously of Washington, D.C. died on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at her home of natural causes. Born March 13, 1916 in Kansas City, MO, Elinor graduated from Eastern High School in Washington, D.C. and was employed as a clerk with C & P Telephone Company (now Verizon) for over 30 years. Her memberships included Meals on Wheels, Pets on Wheels (for 15 years) and Telephone Pioneers of America. Elinor enjoyed sewing, Boston Terrier dogs, gardening, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family. She was the beloved mother of Philip Collison of Annapolis, MD and Linda Cole of Gaithersburg, MD. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to Elinor's Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 from 10:30am until her funeral service begins at 11:30am. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens.
