Elisabeth Frances Trotto - Obituary

E

lisabeth (Beth) Trotto was born April 21, 1939 in Sydney, Australia and lived there with her parents and her brother, Greg, until 1961. She then set out for the traditional Aussie walkabout traveling around the world. She stopped at the half way point to work in the Australian Embassy in the United States and subsequently met Frank Trotto Jr. on a blind date. Frank promised her they would finish that trip and they married later that year. They did finish the trip plus many other trips around the world. Beth was integral in helping Frank grow his successful dental practice in southern Prince George’s county. Beth and Frank raised their two children, Greg and Lisa, in Ft. Washington MD, where Beth was an avid booster for the various sports they played and rarely missed a game. Beth was always a champion for the underdog, whether it was taking on the school system (locally and nationally with her network of friends) with her column “School Ramblings” or various local issues. She was unafraid to educate herself and speak up as many of the local politicians could attest. Beth has passed this trait onto her children in relation to their individual pursuits. Beth had a passion for Harness racing. She bred and raced many horses in the Mid-Atlantic. Her favorite horse was Private Agenda, a MD homebred who bought her much joy. Beth also served on the board of Cloverleaf SOA, who represent the horsemen in Maryland. Beth was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Frank Trotto Jr, and her parents, Joseph and Jessie Mulley. She is survived by her son Greg Trotto, his wife Debbie, and their two children, Greg Jr and Sydney, as well as her daughter Lisa O'Connor and her two children, Shannon and Kylie. Services will be determined at a later date and held at Arlington National Cemetery. Please, in lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to Capital Caring Hospice who provided outstanding care her final days at Capitalcaring.org
