Elizabeth R. Foreman - Obituary

lizabeth Roberts Foreman "Betty", 93, a resident of Riderwood Village in Silver Spring, MD died on Saturday, December 17, 2016. Born on February 3, 1923, in Pittsburgh, PA to the late William and Bertha McLean, Betty grew up in Washington, D.C. and graduated from Eastern High School in 1941 and Strayer Business College. She worked for the American Society for the Blind and she later worked for 23 years as a school secretary at both Duval High School and Goddard Junior High in Glendale, MD. Betty married William R. Foreman on May 29, 1944, and was married for 67 years, until his death in 2011. She was a longtime and active member of Lanham and Calvary United Methodist Churches. She loved to paint, travel, play golf and tennis and most of all, spend time with her beloved family. She is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, John W. and Linda P. Foreman, Roy M. and Candace Foreman and Daniel S. and Daphne Foreman; her five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; her brother, Colonel William McLean and nine nieces and nephews and their children. Friends are invited to celebrate Betty's life from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm on Wednesday, December 28 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD where her funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 29 at 1 PM.
