Elizabeth Halley - Obituary

lizabeth Betty Wilson Halley, age 83 of Sparta, NC died Thursday, June 26, 2014 at her residence. She was born September 3, 1930 in Cockeysville to the late Edgar and Myrtle Fendley Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Kennedy Halley, Jr.; three sisters, Katherine Watkins, Dorothy Martin, Anna Mae Leslie; four brothers, Edgar, Jim, Bob and Bud Wilson; and a son-in-law, Gary Kilby. Elizabeth is survived by three daughters, Linda H. Entz and her husband, Joe of St. Leonard, Joyce H. Kilby of Sparta, NC and Sharon H. Credeur and her husband, Bobby of Sparta, NC; two sons, Frank “Ken” Halley, III of Crofton and Tom Halley and his wife, Trish of Warrenton, VA; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jack Wilson and Bill Wilson both of Cape St. Claire. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4p.m. and 6p.m. until a service begins at 8p.m. on Tuesday, July 1 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater. Burial will be held at 11a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, at Fort Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Medi-Home Hospice of Alleghany, PO Box 1287, Sparta, NC 28675.
