Elizabeth Martin - Obituary

lizabeth "Louise" Martin, 65, a seven-year resident of Shady Side, died of lung cancer July 20 at home after a four-month illness. Mrs. Martin was born March 1, 1942, in Rosehill, Va., and worked as a self-employed housekeeper. Her interests included gardening. Surviving are two sons, John Daniel Martin Jr. of Ohio and Daniel R. Martin of Shady Side; one daughter, Paula Lee Martin of Shady Side; one brother, Johnny Dale Nelson of Dumfries, Va.; two stepsisters, Betty Teats of Annapolis and Wanda Shwartz of North Carolina; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was the former spouse of John D. Martin, whom she married Jan. 15, 1962, and divorced March 16, 1981; and the daughter of the late Suzie Mae Baumgartner. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church cemetery at 101 Owensville Road, West River.
