Elizabeth Norfolk - Obituary

lizabeth “Betty” Louise Norfolk, 80, a resident of Annapolis for fifty years died on December 25 at Anne Arundel Medical Center due to pancreatic cancer. Born in Watertown, MA on October 5, 1934, Betty was a receptionist at Ridgely Retreat in Annapolis. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and enjoyed shopping, Wheel of Fortune, dancing and travelling with her church group. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph S. Norfolk in 2000. She is survived by her companion, Thomas Donahue; two sons, Mickey and Tracy Norfolk both of Huntingtown, MD; two daughters, Cheryl Burns of Cherry Hill, NJ and Cathy Saunders of Charleston, SC; three brothers, Nicholas, Anthony and Ralph Deldon all of Boston, MA; a sister, Patricia Scrooc of Newton, MA; seven grandchildren, Anthony and Adam Dove, Mark E. and Brittany Saunders, Christopher and Christina Burns and Jackie Norfolk and four great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to Betty’s Life Celebration from 2 to 5 pm on Sunday, December 28 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30am on Monday, December 29 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Annapolis. Interment will be at a later date in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
