orn on May 4, 1930 in S.C. to the late James Blacks and Mattie Mathis
Elizabeth was the 7th of 12 children. She and her siblings were extremely close; if you saw one you most surely would soon see the other 11 trailing closely behind. Elizabeth was adventurous with a spirit of playful rambunctiousness. She would often venture out into the woods of the family farm to explore and just to simply enjoy the solace and peacefulness of nature.
Elizabeth was married to Eddie Walker in 1954. Together the two had four children. After the death of her first husband, she later in years married Walter Sanders who has since passed. She worked for 25 years for the Teamsters in the Maintenance Department, where she later retired. Elizabeth attended Peace Baptist Church of Washington D.C., in the early 1980's and later became a member.
