Elizabeth Ann Staed - Obituary

lizabeth Staed, 78, a 25-year resident of Arlington, VA passed away on January 3, 2023, in Edgewater, MD after a 5-year battle with Parkinson’s. Born on September 6, 1944, in Harrisonburg, VA, Elizabeth received a Bachelor of Arts, going on to have a career with Kroger, Inc. Elizabeth was a devoted member of the Catholic Church. She loved sewing, crafts, and fashion. Elizabeth was devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always encouraging her family to overcome divisiveness and support and love one another. She had great style, and was creative and generous in all her endeavors. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughters, Melina Armiger of Deale, MD and Deborah Taylor of Atlanta, GA; brother, John Geiger of Fairfax, VA; sisters, Kathy Ray of Naples, FL, Jean Dolenc of Norfolk, VA, and Margaret Woythal of Kansas City, MO; grandson, Whit Taylor; and granddaughters, Elyse Taylor, Katie Loman, Emily Armiger, and Ashley Kenny. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Elizabeth's life on Tuesday, January 10, from 11 am until a funeral service begins at 12 noon at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD 21037. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm at Fairfax Memorial Park, 9900 Braddock Road Fairfax, VA 22032.
