Elizabeth Thomas - Obituary

lizabeth Saxton Thomas was born July 31st, 1941 to the late Millie Young Saxton and Richard Saxton in New York City, N.Y. She began her eternal life with the lord on May 25th, 2018. As a young girl, Elizabeth went to South Carolina to live with her grandmother (Elizabeth) and her grandfather (Ed) Saxton, who raised her as their own. She considered them as mother and father. Elizabeth was educated in South Carolina. She met Joe Louis Thomas and they relocated to the Washington Metropolitan Area, where they were married and of this union three children were born: Michelle, Patricia, and Patrick Joe Thomas. Elizabeth was homemaker; however, she lived a life of service to her family and a life of dedication to the lord. She will be remembered for her loving spirit, her warm welcoming heart, and her strength as a wife, mother and grand (great) mother. Elizabeth leaves to cherish her memory her husband: Joe Louis Thomas; Children: Michelle (Ray) Clark, Patricia (Anthony) Benbow, and Patrick Joe Thomas; Grandchildren: Antonio Mills, Ebony (Justin) Clark Harrell, Jasmine Thomas, and Toni Benbow; Great grandchildren: Jordon Mills, Amani Mills, Autymn Parker, Ahmir Sledge, and Jade M. Harrell; and Special Friends: Irvin (Gerelene) Womack and Lorena Perkins. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her mother (Millie Young Saxton), father (Richard Saxton), grandmother (Elizabeth Saxton), grandfather (Ed Saxton), sisters (Mary (Bennie R.) Davis & Edna Saxton) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to Elizabeth's Life Celebration at Le Detroit Baptist Church, 5306 Indian Head Hwy., Oxon Hill, MD 20745 on Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Interment Fort Lincoln Cemetery.
