lizabeth “Cookie” Usmiller, 76, of Edgewater, died Sunday, December 21 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born in 1938 in Washington, DC to the late Raymond and Margaret Crampton. Cookie was a member of the Chesapeake Christian Fellowship Church and was an accomplished artist.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 44 years, Melvin Usmiller. She is survived by 4 children, Richard (Mary Alice) Usmiller, Brenda Barrick, Tracey (Rick) Barrick and Katey (Dan) Bailey; 2 sisters, Rose and Lilly Crampton; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, January 2 from 1pm until a memorial service begins at 2pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are recommended to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093.
