Elizabeth Vickers - Obituary

lizabeth "Betty" Ann Hodgens Vickers, 64, of Davidsonville, died Monday, February 15, 2010, in her home, following a lengthy illness. She was born April 5, 1945, in Washington, PA, the daughter of Vern and Elizabeth M. Hodgens. “Betty” was a homemaker and loving wife, who enjoyed cooking, entertaining her many friends, gardening, spending time with her two children and especially spending time with her four grandchildren. In 1964, she married Andrew Alan Vickers. Surviving are her husband, Andy; her daughter Cheryl Ann Vickers Jones, son-in-law Duane Jones; her son Glenn Alan Vickers, daughter-in-law Debra Vickers; her grandchildren Brooke Ashleigh Jones, Andrew Robert Jones, Austin Glenn Vickers and Allison Nicole Vickers all of Maryland. She is also survived by her brother Robert Hodgens; sister-in-laws Betty Hodgens and Priscilla Hodgens; of Washington, PA, brother Charles Hodgens of Nevada and nieces and nephews. As her family and friends mourn her death they celebrate her life and remember her unique ability to light up the room immediately capturing the hearts of those whom she met. Her infectious personality and fun-loving spirit were one of a kind. Friends may call at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD 21037 on Thursday, February 18 from 1 to 3pm and 6 to 8pm. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, February 19 at 10am at Chesapeake Christian Fellowship, 377 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD 21035. Interment private.
