lizabeth “Betty” Waterfield On Sunday, December 4, 2011, Elizabeth “Betty” Waterfield died after a brief illness at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Born February 16, 1925 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Leo and Alma Niehe, Betty enjoyed golfing, playing BINGO, bowling, bridge and traveling the world. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert L. Waterfield; two sons, Tom Waterfield of Millersville and Robert “Pete” Waterfield of Michigan; two daughters, Nancy Higdon of San Antonio, TX and Amy Manning of Annapolis; one sister Ruth Niehe of Fairfield, OH; 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass was held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Annapolis, MD. Inurnment followed at Maryland Veterans Cemetery-Crownsville. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are recommended to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090.
