Ellen Hockenberry - Obituary

llen M. Hockenberry, 74, a resident of Glen Burnie for five years and previously of Eastport and Annapolis, died of heart failure Feb. 26 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. Mrs. Hockenberry was born March 22, 1933, in Annapolis. She worked as a telephone operator with AT&T for over 30 years. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Annapolis Post. She enjoyed country music, traveling, and going to Williamsburg. She was a caregiver for her family members. She preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hockenberry; and one son, Mikey Givens. Survivors include one son, Albert Givens Jr. of Jessup; one brother, James Ford of Glen Burnie; one sister, Amy Daywalt of Annapolis; and one granddaughter. Family and friends may join in the celebration of her life from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Interment is private.
