llen Sue Miller died on Friday, November 27, 2009 at the Hospice of the Chesapeake's Mandrin House in Harwood, Maryland, after a battle with breast cancer. Ms. Miller was born on September 15, 1950 to Gladyce and Sol Hartenstein in Brooklyn, NY. She was raised in Valley Stream, NY and attended Central High School. She later received her B.S. from University of Connecticut and her Masters degree in Textile Chemistry from University of Maryland. She started Clipper Carpet Cleaning in 1978 with her former spouse, Wally Miller. She owned Val-Pak of Anne Arundel County for 12 years. Ms. Miller then worked as a real estate agent in the Annapolis area. She enjoyed going to Dover Downs, crocheting, playing Bunco with her friends, and being an active member in her community's social activities. She is survived by her daughter Amanda of Annapolis; brother Alan Hartenstein of Yardley, Pennsylvania; parents Gladyce and Sol Hartenstein of Queens, NY; former spouse Wally Miller of Arnold and many good friends in the Davidsonville and Annapolis areas. Friends are invited to Ellen's Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Sunday, November 29, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm, where funeral service will be held on Monday, November 30 at 1:30pm.
