Elmer Leroy Paddy - Obituary

lmer L. Paddy, Jr, 61, of Harwood passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, November 22, 2017. Elmer was born on January 1, 1956 to the late Elmer L. and Harriet Paddy in Annapolis, MD. Elmer was a graduate of Central Special High School. He competed in the Maryland Special Olympics as a track and field athlete, winning gold medals for shot put and track. Elmer enjoyed fishing, hunting, a good game of poker, a pull at the slot machine, and was a scratch-off fanatic. In addition to his parents, Elmer was preceded in death by Brenda Kaye Bowen, the mother of his daughter. He is survived by his daughter, Kalyn Paddy of Harwood; two stepchildren, Samuel and Ashley Cockrell of FL; two sisters, Debbie Paddy of Harwood and Sarah(Steven) Radcliffe of the Eastern Shore of MD; and one nephew, Leigh Dobbs. Friends are invited to celebrate Elmer's life on Monday, November 27 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 28 at 11 AM.
