n Saturday, June 3, 2017 Eloise Nyce Tyson, 103, passed away at her home in Riva, MD. Eloise was born on July 23, 1913 in Washington, DC to the late Arthur William Nyce and Mazie Virginia Morgan Nyce. She was a graduate of Western High School in Washington, DC and attended the Ficklin School of Music in Alexandria, VA and studied under Mildred Ficklin. She was employed at the Woodward and Lothrop store in Washington, DC as well as a bookkeeper for Tyson Automotive. Eloise was a member of the Belles of St. Mary's and the Alexandria PTA. She enjoyed music, sewing, decorating, and educating herself about Catholicism.
In addition to her parents Eloise was predeceased by her husband, of 49 years, Elder Aloysius Tyson; her son, Lawrence Michael Tyson and her grandson, Christopher Lewis Borngesser; her brothers, Morgan Cromwell Nyce, Walker Calvin Nyce and Louis V. Meyers; her sisters, Elizabeth Leigh Nyce and Suzanne Meyers.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane M. Ellis of Riva; granddaughters, Angela Tyson and Jennifer Dorsey; great granddaughters, Karli Dorsey, Carly, Kelsi and Kylie Bromwell and great grandson, Cameron Dorsey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 9 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 109 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis. Interment at 2 pm at Fairfax Memorial Park, Fairfax, VA.
