mma Eleanora Dove Taylor, “Miss Bootie”, 85, a 57-year resident of Edgewater, MD died on Thursday, December 22, 2011 of respiratory failure at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center after a 6 month illness. Born May 14, 1926 in Harwood, MD, to the late Joseph Franklin and Leona Maxwell Dove, she attended schools in Anne Arundel and Prince George’s county. Emma was employed as a floral designer for Safeway and as an upholstery assistant at her children’s upholstery shops. She worked for Safeway Stores in Washington, D.C. as 1 of only 2 female clerks before marrying and becoming a homemaker until her children were grown. Emma attended Friendship Community Baptist Church in Dunkirk, MD. Her hobbies included reading her bible, Baltimore Orioles and flowers. All of her family was extremely important to her. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Taylor, whom she married on February 10, 1951 and who died in 2009; and 11 deceased siblings. Emma is survived by her five children, Barry (Sharon) Taylor, Dana (Kimberly) Taylor, Sandra Taylor and Bonnie Taylor, all of Edgewater, MD and Michael (Gail) Taylor of Easley, SC; five grandchildren, Joey (Kathy) Taylor of Concord, NC, Matthew and Bradley Taylor, both of Edgewater, MD, Jennifer (Paul) Keysar of Charlotte, NC and Kelly Taylor of Easley, SC; and five siblings, Everett and Arthur Dove, both of Davidsonville, MD, Floyd Dove of Crownsville, MD, Beverly Lee of Edgewater, MD and Geraldine Eschinger of Easley, SC; 1 brother-in-law, Carroll Hardesty of Edgewater, MD. She is also survived by one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter. Friends are invited to Emma’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Monday, December 26 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm, where a service will be held on Tuesday, December 27 at 11am. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens.
