mmett was born in Providence, Rhode Island on February 11, 1931. Emmett graduated from St. Paul's Academy in 1949 and worked at the Library of Congress from 1949 until 1952. In 1952 Emmett joined the Marine Corps and stayed active duty until 1954. After Emmett left the Marine Corps he returned to the Library of Congress working his way up from a Page to the Assistant Chief of the Collection Management Division. After working 40 years Emmett retired in 1989. Emmett and Christine a.k.a. Shirley enjoyed 46 wonderful years together.
On Thursday, October 22, 2015; the beloved husband of the late C. Christine Trainor; father of Judy (Peter) Henderson, Christopher (Matt) and Joseph (Leslie) Trainor; grandfather of Phillip, Andrew, Joshua, Katie, Jason, Joey and Bethany; great-grandfather of Reagan and Aryn; brother of Paul Trainor, Anita Harrison and Jeanne Hemmer. He is also survived by numerous, nieces, nephews, other relatives, his dear neighbors and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to Emmitt’s Celebration of Life on Monday, October 26 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, P.A, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, October 27 at 11 am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 8908 Old Branch Ave., Clinton, MD. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
