Erika Grice - Obituary

rika Hayley Grice “Gerta”, age 20, a resident of south county, died on Monday, July 8. Born on October 2, 1992 in Annapolis, Erika graduated from North Dorchester High School in 2010, where she starred in the school’s production of Peter Pan. She worked at Skipper's Pier, The Twisted Bead and most recently as a nanny for a loving family and a barista at Whole Foods. She enjoyed photography, drawing, painting, acting, performing, dancing, making jewelry, being outdoors, camping and spending time with her family. She is survived by her parents, Elisabeth (Chad) Muse and Sean (Jennifer Boertlein) Grice; sisters, Ryan (Nick) Caparella and Sarah Grice; brothers, Mark (Karen) Fones and Jeffrey (Iselin) Fones; grandparents, Derek and Brenda Grice, Frank and Elly Black, Dick and Meg Shrum and Kerry Muse; uncles, Steven (Debbie) Grice, Glenn (Marian) Shrum, Rick Shrum, Christopher Shrum; aunt Katharine Shrum and so many other nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends are invited to Erika’s Life Celebration from 1:00 to 3:00 and 6:00 to 8:00PM on Saturday, July 13 and from 10:00AM until her memorial service begins at 11:00AM on Sunday, July 14 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater. Interment will be private.
