Erin Marie Heaton Guyette - Obituary

I

t is with profound sadness and disbelief that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Erin Heaton Guyette, 43, of Annapolis, Maryland. A devoted mother, beloved daughter, and cherished sister, Erin passed away on December 22, 2025. Born Erin Marie Heaton on September 16th, 1982 in Annapolis, Maryland, to Deborah Lynn Ward Heaton and Dr. John Fredrick (Rick) Heaton. She was a graduate of The Country School and Easton High School, later attending High Point University in North Carolina. Erin was a bright light who brought positive energy, fun, and a wonderful sense of humor to her friends and family. She was naturally creative and curious, a spirit that led her to try new things throughout her life. While her diverse talents took her into various fields—from costume and set design in television and film, to paralegal positions, and real estate—she was defined not by her work, but by her kindness and the genuine connections she made with others. Above all, Erin’s heart belonged to her son, Robert Francis "Tripp" Guyette III. She loved Tripp fiercely and cherished every moment they shared. She took immense pride in supporting him and watching him grow into the young man he is becoming. A resident of Annapolis with Eastern Shore roots, Erin loved being on the water. She was in her element when sailing, boating, soaking up the sun, and enjoying the company of her friends and family, whom she loved deeply. She will be remembered for her kindness, her infectious laughter, and the genuine care she showed to everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Camille and Robert A. Ward, and her paternal grandparents, Betty Lou and John D. Heaton. Erin is survived by her son, Tripp Guyette of Yuma, AZ; her parents, Deborah and Dr. Rick Heaton of Easton, MD; her sister, Erika Heaton, and brother-in-law, Carlo Woods; and her nephews, Leo and Luca Woods, of Tiburon, CA. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Annapolis, Maryland at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday February 21st. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Erin's memory to The Women's Law Center of Maryland. Contributions can be made online at https://wlcmd.org/about-us/ways-to-give/.
