Ernest H. Schultz, Jr. - Obituary

rnest “Ernie” Hayes Schultz, Jr., 91, a 64-year resident of the Annapolis/Hillsmere Shores area passed away on July 13, 2026, at Anne Arundel Medical Center from natural causes. Born on March 5, 1935 in West Annapolis to the late Ida Schultz and Ernest H. Schultz, Sr., Ernie graduated from high school before serving his country in the United States Army. He went on to establish a career with the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier. Following retirement from USPS, Ernie worked in the Maryland State Senate mailroom for 13 years. He was a member of Eastport United Methodist Church in Annapolis. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and bowling. Ernie lived by his saying, “Just Living the Good Life”. Ernie is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia Schultz; his children, Jeffrey D. Schultz of Jupiter, FL and Lauren H. Altherr of Edgewater, MD; his brother, Larry Schultz of Murrells Inlet, SC; his granddaughters, Kayla Wintermute, Darcey Generazio, and Kelsey Schultz; and five great-grandchildren.
