Esther Conte - Obituary

sther A. Conte, 92, a 40-year resident of Lothian and previously of Upper Marlboro, died June 6, 2012 at her home surrounded by family. Born in Calabria, Italy on May 20, 1920, Esther was a homemaker who enjoyed crotcheting, gardening and cooking for her large family. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Conte, who died in 1993 and one son, Nicholas Conte. She is survived by three sons, Joe (Daralyn) Conte, Anthony (Donna) Conte and David Conte and three daughters, Anne Marie (Chester) Santoiemma, Rosalie (James) VanWie and Mary Esther (Nick) Finamore, all of Lothian; two brothers, Hugo and Albert Procopio of Edgewater; and two sisters, Carmela Arcuri of Riva and Betty DeCesaris of Davidsonville; 24 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to Esther’s Life Celebration at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 101 Owensville Road, West River, MD on Saturday, June 9, from 9AM until a Mass of Christian Burial is offered at 11AM. Interment in the church cemetery. A reception will be held immediately afterward in the church social hall. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.
