sther Lucente Vricella, 75, an 8-year resident of Edgewater, MD and previously of Ft. Washington, MD, died on December 1, 2008 at her home following a 2-year battle with lung cancer. She was born on November 9, 1933 in Jamaica, NY to the late Frank and Maria Lucente and was a homemaker most of her life. She was highly regarded as a good neighbor and a good friend, always willing to help others. Esther was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a hospice volunteer and enjoyed dancing, quilting, traveling, cooking and, most of all, her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Vricella, whom she married on April 17, 1955; her children: Dina D'Arcangelo of McLean, VA, Gene Vricella of Honolulu, HI, Steve Vricella of Crofton, MD, and Robert Vricella of Chevy Chase, MD. She was also the mother of the late Paul Vricella. She was the sister of John Lucente of Davidsonville, MD, Frank Lucente and Frances Fernandes of Edgewater, MD and Angela Ferguson of Moriches, NY. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to Esther's Life Celebration at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, on Thursday, December 4, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, December 5, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Edgewater. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton, MD.
