E

ve Muriel Stepp (nee Sellars), 85, a 35-year resident of Edgewater and previously of Berwyn Heights, died April 8 at home surrounded by her family. She was born April 5, 1926 in Lanham to the late John and Clara Conger Sellars. Throughout the 1950s and most of the 1960s, Eve owned and operated Evans Jewelers in Seat Pleasant. Afterward, she worked for 20 years at Giant Grocery Store, retiring in 1988. Eve was an avid gardener and wonderful cook. She also enjoyed the beach, crabs and wildlife. Most of all, she loved her family and the time she spent with them. In addition to her parents, Eve was preceded in death by her first husband, Lee Evans; son, Jimmy Evans; brothers, Tony, Phil and Bob Sellars; and sister, Betty Sellars. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Paul Stepp, Jr. of Edgewater; two sons, Eddie Evans and his wife, Donna, of Mercersburg, PA and Paul Stepp III and his wife, Cindy, of Glen Burnie; two daughters, Nancy Moore and her husband, Donald, of Thomas, WV and Holley Schewe and her husband, Ed, of LaVale; two brothers, John Sellars and his wife, Carol, of Cambridge and Bill Sellars and his wife, Hilda, of Annandale, VA; and a sister, Sue Sellars, of Philo, CA. Also survived by 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to Eve’s Life Celebration on Tuesday, April 12, from 11AM until service begins at noon at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. Interment private.
