Farley Taylor - Obituary

arley Ray Taylor, 76, a 20-year resident of Newport, TN and previously of Landover Hills, MD died on August 29, 2009 at the Baptist Hospital of Cocke County in Newport, TN. Born May 29, 1933 in Overton County, TN, he was employed at Safeway Stores from 1954-1988, serving as a Store Manager for 25 years. He served in the United States Navy as an Aviation Machinist Mate at the Patuxent Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. Mr. Taylor was dedicated to his career with Safeway. His memberships included Free Will Baptist Church of Newport in Newport, TN and the Loyal Order of the Moose in College Park, MD. He was an avid baseball and football fan. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Taylor, whom he married April 16, 1961; three sons, Dale E. Taylor of Rochester, NY, Paul W. Taylor of Annapolis, MD and Daniel R. Taylor of Lenoir, NC; one daughter, Patricia A. Taylor of Carthage, NC. Friends are invited to Ray's Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Friday, September 11 from 11am until time of service beginning at 12pm. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
