ay Kathleen Chewning, 90, a resident of Annapolis, MD and previously of Waynesboro, PA, died Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Fairfield Nursing Home after suffering a massive stroke.
Born January 9, 1922 in Washington, DC, she worked for the government during her career, at HDL Laboratories. Fay enjoyed shopping and loved all things Christmas-related.
Fay was predeceased by her son, Paul Hance.
She is survived by her husband Robert Chewning; two children, Charlie Barnes (Sharon) of Riva and Barbara Brylawsky (Bud) of Vermont and Florida; one brother, Buddy Bell of Alexandria, VA. Also survived by four grandchildren, Paul and Justin Hance, Frank Danna and Sandy Hoshkins; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to Fay's Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Friday, May 18 from 11am until a funeral service begins at 12pm. Interment private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1041 Route 3 #1a, Gambrills, MD 21054.
