ernando Duran, a longtime resident of Arnold, MD, passed away on November 23, 2022, one day after his 69th birthday. He was born in San Salvador, El Salvador to Maria Teresa Moisa and the late Ricardo Duran. Fernando owned the Broadneck Grill in Cape St. Claire, Pachanga Grill in Odenton and La Palapa Grill & Cantina in Ellicott City. He was a member of St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church and coached Broadneck Youth Soccer. An avid sports fan, Fernando regularly attended the U.S. Open Tennis Championship and Washington Nationals games. Fernando enjoyed traveling, especially to Latin America and throughout the Caribbean, and dining at restaurants. In addition to his father, Fernando was preceded in death by his son, Alex Duran. He is survived by his son, Fernando Morris Duran, and his daughter-in-law Julianne Duran; his daughter, Jacqueline Duran; his mother, Maria Teresa Moisa; and his granddaughter, Maria Alex Duran. Fernando’s family will receive guests at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD, on Friday, December 2 from 10AM until his funeral service begins at 11AM. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Annapolis. Online condolence may be made by using the Memories tab on this page.
