Florence Holly - Obituary

OLLY, Florence Mae, 100 yrs old and a 50 year resident of Greenbelt, Md died on Tuesday August 25, 2009 at Chesapeake Hospice due to Congestive Heart Failure. Florence was a life long member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, a past Golden Age Club President and a past Outstanding Citizen of Greenbelt. Florence was an active community volunteer involved in many clubs and organizations. Florence is the widow of Martin Holly and preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Harmon, her two younger brothers, John Taylor and Robert Taylor, her younger sister Dorothy Nussbaum and her nephew Cliff Holly. Florence is survived by her daughter Patricia G. Routt of Annapolis,two granddaughters, Dawn Marie Tilghman of Richmond Va and Laura Parry of Annapolis; nine nieces, Judee Wood, Rita Weeks, Ruth Meisbeck, Ruth Nelson, Jan Foster, Janene Tidrick, Grace Briner, Faye Marie Taylor and Joyce Brennan; Six Nephews, Bob Holly, Charlie Tighe, Jack Taylor, James Taylor, Paul and Peter Nussbaum, five great nieces, ten great nephews and many great- great nephews and nieces. A private family funeral will be held at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetary on Thursday September 3. A Memorial Service will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 6905 Greenbelt Rd Greenbelt Md on Saturday Sept 12 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church Sunday School Program or Prince Georges Literacy Council in honor of Florence Holly.
