Florence Ochinero - Obituary

lorence “Flo” Kathryn Ochinero, 85, a 27-year resident of Annapolis, MD and previously of New Carrollton, MD, died on Friday, April 22, 2011 of spinal stenosis at her home surrounded by her family. Born July 3, 1926 in Queens, NY to the late John and Helen Schafer she was a graduate of the Lenox Hill Hospital School of Nursing in New York. After graduation she worked as a Registered Nurse at Lenox Hill Hospital, in NY and Providence Hospital in Washington, D.C. Flo enjoyed traveling, especially camping with the WBCCI Airstream Club. She is survived by her husband Robert Vincent Ochinero, whom she married in 1949, her children Christopher Ochinero of Orlando, Fl, Antonia O’Neil of Hubert, N.C., Peter Ochinero of Glen Burnie, MD, Vicki Ochinero of Bowie, MD and David Ochinero of Stevensville, MD. Also survived by her sister Marilyn Sprufera of Irving, Texas and her grandchildren; Sean and Brianna O’Neil and Daniel, Carly, Lauren, Morgan and Melissa Ochinero. Friends are invited to Flo’s Life Celebration on Thursday, April 28 from 5 to 7pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, April 29 at 9am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Road , Annapolis, MD. Interment private.
