Florence L. Sears - Obituary

lorence Alberta Lewis Sears, affectionately known as Flo, lived a full life of 90 years. On April 14, 2018, while surrounded by family, she succumbed to congestive heart failure and made her anticipated journey home to be with the Lord. Born on May 22, 1927 in Annapolis to the late Lawrence Albert and Lillian Marie Connaway Lewis, Flo was a lifelong resident of Anne Arundel County, spending over 50 years in Harwood, MD. She graduated from Annapolis High School in 1944 and earned an Associate of Arts degree in Accounting from Anne Arundel Community College in 1981. Flo enjoyed traveling the country with her late husband of 59 years, William "Bill" Earl Sears, Jr., who passed in 2012. Her hobbies included creating award-winning models of lighthouses and buildings, gardening and completing jigsaw, word search and crossword puzzles. She treasured time with her family and dearly loved her grandchildren. She was a long time member of Galesville United Methodist Church and for the past six years had been involved with the Thursday morning Bible Study Fellowship in Severna Park, MD. In addition to her husband and parents, Florence was preceded in glory by her older sisters, Josephine and Melvine. She is survived by her daughter, Susan M. Sears and her husband, Alan Lang and her grandchildren, Kevin, Becky and Christy Lang. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 3 PM at Galesville United Methodist Church , 4825 Church Lane, Galesville MD 20765.
